SMSTS Training - Site Management Safety Training Scheme

The CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) training course is one of the most highly regarded training courses within the construction industry available for site managers and supervisors, taken by more than 10,000 people each year. The SMSTS training course helps site managers (and anyone wanting to become a site manager) to develop a better understanding of the legal, moral and social responsibilities of their role, and to manage health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions.The SMSTS training course lasts five days. During the SMSTS training course, candidates must pass core exercises. At the end of the training, candidates sit an examination in order to qualify for the certificate. The SMSTS training course certificate lasts five years, after which candidates must sit the ‘Two Day SMSTS Refresher Training Course’ to renew the SMSTS training course certificate and keep their qualification up to date. The Two Day SMSTS Refresher training course is only available for candidates who have attended the five-day SMSTS training course and can provide evidence of attending the original SMSTS training course.
