Classroom Course Introduction
The aims of the IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management is to provide a good grounding to help assist with managing the environmental impact on the environment. The main focus is to build awareness and appreciate the background surrounding current environmental issues. The topics covered over the two days include:
- Appreciate how environmental issues evolve
- Identify how issues can be incorporated into the daily management of a business
- Explain the legislations that are related to the operations of the company
- Outline how to assess environmental performance
- Outline how the environmental management system works
Who is the Course Aimed Towards?
The foundation certificate in Environmental management is ideally suited to anyone who is involved in environmental management. If you are new to the environmental department the foundation level is the best place to start.
Gain a Recognised Qualification
The awarding body is the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, a respected and recognised organisation.
The course lasts for two days if you attend one of the training centres. You can also choose to have the course delivered via e-learning training or request in-house training provide by a tutor.
Assessment and Success
Once the course has been completed delegates need to sit an examination. The exam lasts for 2 and a half hour and is in addition to a course assessment which has to be completed within two weeks of the end of the course. Successful candidates are awarded with an affiliate membership to the IEMA and receive the foundation certificate in environmental management.
