What is the Study Method and Duration of the Course?

This NEBOSH Environmental Certificate course can be taken via distance learning. You will receive the course materials as well as exam and revision advice, support from a tutor and a study planner. You will be able to contact your tutor via email or telephone for support at any time. Also participants in the course will be able to access a Facebook group that is specifically for students in the NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate distance learning program. On the Facebook group you will be able to ask questions and discuss the course with students and tutors alike. You are free to begin the course at any time and you can pursue your studies in your own time.

How Many Hours of Study Are Recommended?

60 hours of study is recommended for the EC1 course and 10 hours of study is recommended for the EC2 course.

Unit EC1: Management and control of environmental hazards

Unit EC2: Environmental Practical Application

The practical assessment is carried out in the candidates own workplace. The practical must be completed within 14 days of sitting the examination for the EC1 unit.

What is the Price?

  • The cost of both EC1 and EC2 is £395, plus VAT for a total of £474.
  • The exam fees are £80 for EC1 and £40 for EC2, for a total of £120.

What Examinations Are There?

For the EC1 course there will be a two hour written exam and for the EC2 course where will be a practical exam that is held within the workplace. It will be marked by the training provider and moderated by NEBOSH and participants must submit for the EC2 exam within 14 days from the EC1 exam.

The exams will be available throughout March, June, September and December on “standard” examination dates.

What Certification Will You Receive?

Once both units are completed, participants will receive a certificate for the courses. You will need to pass both of the units within a two year period in order to qualify.
