Distance Learning Course Introduction

The NEBOSH Fire Certificate distance learning course is designed to help all candidates learn the necessary information concerning fire and risk management in the workplace. It is essential to provide the right fire training to comply with the Fire Safety Order 2005. Fire risk assessments are an absolute must, and without training you could open your business, employees and the public to unnecessary risks, and open yourself up to prosecution.

The fire certificate will provide all candidates with the necessary skills to perform adequate fire assessments and further knowledge which will benefit your company. There are three units and by the end of the course candidates will be able to:

  • Advise on fire prevention and protection
  • Risk assessment techniques
  • Causes of fires and explosions
  • Control measures to reduce fire risks
  • How to investigate fires in the workplace
  • The law surrounding fire and health and safety

Who is the Distance Learning Course Aimed Towards?

The NEBOSH Fire Certificate distance learning is the ideal course for supervisors, managers or any employees who are given fire safety within their list of duties. The person must be competent and have the right training, and this is the course to choose.

Employers are able to provide the training within the workplace through the distance training method. You can choose the time schedule which will suit you and the candidate, and the assessment and exams will be times to suit the speed of the learning. The examination may need to be sat at a recognised exam centre of which there are many in the UK, and the practical assessments will need to be taken at work or at an appropriate site.

Gain a Recognised and Useful Fire Safety Qualification

NEBOSH are the National Examination Board of Safety and Health which was established in 1979. They are the awarding body of the Fire Certificate which means it is fully recognisable throughout the UK and their qualifications are often recognised on a global scale. Being distance learning doesn’t affect the qualification so it’s a great choice if you are providing the training for employees who cannot afford to spend several days at a training centre in the UK.

Course Duration

The course materials are presented in a folder along with a USB and can be taken at the speed decided by the employer and the candidate. There is full support available over the phone and online and it’s possible to interact with other candidates for support and advice. Facebook users can also join the NEBOSH Fire Certificate distance learning students group. This qualification is also available in a classroom setting and in the workplace on-site provided by tutors.

Assessment and Success

You will be required to hand in regular assessments throughout the three main units which will be marked by your tutor. At the end of the course you will also need to sit examinations and a practical exam which will be taken once you have completed the materials. You can arrange a suitable timetable with your fully qualified tutor.

Examination Fees

  • One written exam: £80.00
  • Two written exams (sat on the same day): £120.00
  • Practical exam (carried out in your own workplace) £40.00
  • Two written exams (sat on the same day) and a practical exam £145.00
