Classroom Course Introduction
There are three units which work towards the qualification in Fire health and safety. The NEBOSH Fire Certificate course will give the delegates the core skills required in managing health and safety (Unit NGC1), fire safety and risk management (Unit FC1) and practical fire risk assessment (Unit FC2).

What Will I Learn on the NEBOSH Fire Certificate?
By the end of the training you will have the skills that will help you to understand the legal framework as well as:
- Being able to advise on fire protection and prevention of the spreading of fire
- Advising on how to develop and maintain fire evacuations
- Use a fire risk assessment technique in order to develop the risk levels and the effectiveness of control
- Appreciate the purposes and procedures that are involved in investigating fires
- The principles of ignition, spreading fire and explosions
- The main causes of fires and explosions
- Outlining appropriate measures that can minimise risks from fire
Who is the Course Aimed Towards?
The NEBOSH Fire Certificate is a great follow on course for delegates who have already been awarded Unit NGC1 of the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety if you have passed within the last five years.

Will I Gain a Recognised Fire Safety Risk Management Qualification?
The awarding body is the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health. This is a recognised certificate that can be used to further your career and build on your portfolio of health and safety.
What is the Duration of the Training Course?
The duration of the NEBOSH Fire Certificate course will depend on how you choose to take the training. You have the choice of learning in a classroom situation or distance learning where it is possible to learn at your own pace.
How Will the Course be Assessed?
Once the course has ended delegates will have to complete an on-site assessment assignment. The assignment will take place at your own place of work and must be submitted within two weeks of completing the course.
How Can I Justify the Cost to My Employer and What are the Benefits?
Employers will benefit from having trained fire health and safety employees that hold a recognised qualification. The skills learnt on the NEBOSH Fire Certificate course can help to reduce the risk of fires in the workplace.
Will All of the Course Materials be Included in the Price?
All NEBOSH Fire Certificate course materials are provided during the training. The price also includes NEBOSH examination and certification fees.
When I’ve Completed the NEBOSH General Certificate Can I Study Further?
Once you have completed the NEBOSH General Certificate and Fire Certificate we recommend that you gain some more work experience. If you decide to study further we recommend the NEBOSH Diploma. This qualification is for individuals who wish to pursue a career in occupational health and safety and become a health and safety consultant, practitioner or other.
Please note: studying the NEBOSH Diploma does not automatically qualify you to be a health and safety consultant or practitioner, this requires qualifications and more experience before you are able to take on this type of job role.
