The NVQ Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations is a tailor- made, work-based qualification for employees in the construction and built environment sector working at a technical level in estimating, buying, planning, surveying, technical support and design coordinator disciplines.

Who is the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations For?
This qualification has been designed for existing employees in the construction industry, or those who wish to work in the construction and built environment sector under numerous disciplines, many of which share common necessary skills. No prior knowledge, skills or qualifications are required prior to registering. Applicants between the ages of 16-18 and 19+ may apply. The course assesses occupational competency, with students asked to demonstrate their skills and knowledge to the adequate level required by the industry.
The NVQ Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations is structured around seven pathways, each of which will help students develop specific skills in a variety of disciplines. Students must obtain a minimum of 90 credits to achieve this qualification.

- Site Technical Support
- Design Coordinator
In all pathways, learners must complete all mandatory units and a number of optional units (the amount depending on the pathway chosen) in order to obtain the requisite credits. You'll notice that some units are common to multiple pathways as they provide a broad range of common skills that can be utilised amongst all positions in the construction industry.
The four mandatory units that are common amongst all pathways/disciplines are as follows:-
- Operate health, safety and welfare systems in construction.
- Prepare programmes and schedules of work in construction.
- Operate project information systems in construction.
- Develop and maintain working relationships and personal development in construction.
The NVQ Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations is 900 hours. 300 of those hours will be under guided supervision. All units and the qualification itself are graded on a pass/fail basis.
You will be assessed via a portfolio of evidence that will be built up throughout the course to provide a broad picture of your overall competence. This portfolio will be externally assessed upon course completion and will be based on evidence ascertained by workplace observations; outcomes from oral or written questioning; personal statements; outcomes from simulations; assignments/case studies; professional discussion and witness testimony. To earn a pass, learners must satisfy the assessment criteria unique to each unit by providing valid, relevant and sufficient evidence.
