What is the Course for?
To succeed in a leadership role in modern business, you’ll need a detailed knowledge of best health and safety practice. Moreover, you’ll need to be able to implement that knowledge and create a safer environment for your workforce and customers. Businesses are already benefiting from
IOSH Leading Safely, implementing new and improved practices and organisational cultures, and being a great deal healthier and safer as a result. Provided that they’re adopted from the top, good health and safety can make a wise and sensible investment for your business.
What Does the IOSH Course Cover?
In collaboration with business leaders, IOSH have designed a course that will increase the value of your organisation and everyone in it.
The most noteworthy aspect of the IOSH Leading Safely course is that it allows delegates to benchmark their current and future health and safety performance, and compare themselves to global safety models. You’ll be able to establish where you are currently, where you need to be, and how to move from the former to the latter.
During the course, you’ll learn about:
What health and safety means for different leadership positions
What a leader should do in order to foster good health and safety practice
What improvements you can make to achieve superior performance
Having completed the course, you’ll be able to:
Understand best practice from across the world
Identify what steps you need to take to achieve your health and safety vision
Compare your health and safety performance against others
Having done this, you’ll be rewarded with:
Reduced accident rates
Reduced absence and sick leave
A better reputation among suppliers, clients and other outside bodies
Less outlay on insurance and legal fees
Better business continuity
How is the Training Assessed?
To complete the IOSH Leading Safely training course, you’ll need to use a special diagnostic program which comes in the form of a smartphone application. In it, you’ll be faced with a series of questions designed to identify the learner’s current health and safety position. The application will then present the learner with a series of recommendations of what action (if any) should be taken. Finally, when the training course is almost complete, the learner will complete a special ‘personal action plan’, which will chart the best way to improve the organisation’s safety and health management.
What will I Receive?
During the course, learners will be presented with their app, which can be used to access the diagnostic tool and planner. But perhaps more importantly, they’ll also get access to the health and safety leadership community, along with regular news from IOSH and discussion about how superior standards of health and safety can be achieved.
How Long Will the Course Last?
This is a full day course, whose entirety will take place over five hours.
